Brandon Li (PhD student) and Andrea Campos Sanchez (MS student) presented their research at the ACI Conference in Boston, MA on October 31st. Their presentation was titled, "Investigating Interface Shear Resistance Though Slant Shear Tests: A Critical Review of Current Design Codes." In this talk, they discussed the key variables that are deemed to be most influential to interface shear resistance by sharing the test results of a series of slant shear tests. Current design codes for the interface shear resistance will be further validated through the test results, and an innovative approach is proposed to improve the estimated interface shear resistance.
Their research is being performed under the supervision of Dr. Oguzhan Bayrak and Dr. Anca Ferche.
