A recent research report dives deep into application of the strut-and-tie method (STM) on drilled shaft reinforcement in deep footings, curved-bar nodes in closing knee joints, nodal confinement, and crack control reinforcement. The findings offer valuable insights, accompanied by design guidelines and a practical example for efficient solutions in reinforced concrete deep members. The research extends the applicability of the STM, providing structural engineers with a powerful tool. Proposing ready-to-implement code provisions for AASHTO LRFD and TxDOT, this work is a step forward in industry standards. Kudos to the team for advancing innovation in structural engineering!
