Gregory Hunsicker is the Deputy Director of the Concrete Bridge Engineering Institute (CBEI) at the University of Texas at Austin.  He has been engaged in the post-tensioning industry since 1999 shortly after graduating from the University of Massachusetts.  Through his experience, he recognizes the importance of safety, quality, and efficiency and how they are interwoven in the approach to delivering successful projects.    

He has worked on many types of structures including both new construction and repair / strengthening.  This includes bridges, parking structures, containment structures, residential and office buildings, heavy lifting and foundations.  While most of his experience has been in the field of post-tensioned concrete he has been involved with other materials as well as various construction methods and equipment.    

He has been engaged in industry organizations such as ASBI and PTI and serves on several committees as well as a trainer for field personnel certification courses. He is the past chair of the PTI M-55 Grouting Committee and currently chair of the PTI CRT-70 PT System Certification Committee dedicated to development of a standardized system approval program.

During his career he was fortunate to be given the opportunity to work within several functional areas including Project Management and Field Operations, Engineering and Shop Drawing Development, Estimating and Sales, and Manufacturing.  Skills include mentoring employees and managing teams, safety management and facilitation, cost control and forecasting, developing and implementing quality plans, purchasing, scheduling, sales and estimating, training, testing, troubleshooting, shop drawings, design and analysis, utilize and develop plans and specifications, procedures and method statements, construction claims, budgeting and P&L responsibility, and post-tensioning.
